Privacy Policy
How we handle personal data belonging to school staff, prospective clients and — where a school instructs us — students.
Last updated: 2026. This policy is written to align with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. It is provided for information and is not legal advice; schools should review it alongside their own data protection obligations.
1. Who we are
Alchemi-E LLP ("Alchemi-E", "we", "us") provides a developmental programme to schools, delivered online. Our registered contact address is 652, 22nd Cross, 23rd Main Rd, Parangi Palaya, Sector 2, HSR Layout, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560102. You can reach us at info@alchemi-e.com or +91 95998 34886.
This policy explains how we handle personal data collected through our website, our enquiry forms, our WhatsApp and email channels, our live teacher workshops, and the surveys we run with partner schools.
2. Our role, and the school's role
For enquiries and our own business communications, Alchemi-E LLP is the data fiduciary (controller) and decides how the data is used.
For student data generated during a programme rollout, the school is the data fiduciary. Alchemi-E LLP acts as a data processor on the school's written instructions, under an agreement with that school. We do not use student data for our own purposes, and we do not sell it.
3. Data we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Enquiry data: school name, size band, board, stated priority, contact name, role, work email, phone number, and any notes you choose to add.
- Communication data: the content of emails, WhatsApp messages and call notes exchanged with us.
- Programme data: teacher workshop attendance, questions asked during Q&A sessions, and responses to teacher and student surveys.
- Student data: only what a school shares or a survey collects for the agreed developmental purpose. We ask schools to share aggregate or pseudonymised data wherever the purpose allows.
- Website data: basic technical information such as pages viewed, approximate location, browser and device type, collected to keep the site secure and to understand which pages schools find useful.
4. Why we use it
We use personal data to:
- Respond to enquiries and assess whether Alchemi-E is a fit for your school.
- Deliver the programme: schedule and run workshops, publish recorded answers, and provide resources.
- Measure progress through student and teacher surveys at agreed points in the year.
- Improve our curriculum, materials and delivery.
- Meet legal, accounting and contractual obligations.
5. Children's data
Alchemi-E does not market to children and does not offer accounts to students. Where a programme involves students, participation and any data collection are arranged through the school and, where required, with verifiable parental consent obtained by the school under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
We do not use children's data for behavioural advertising or tracking, and we do not process it in any way likely to cause detrimental effect to a child's wellbeing.
6. Lawful basis and consent
We process personal data on the basis of your consent, the performance of a contract with your school, our legitimate interest in responding to a business enquiry, and where necessary to comply with law. Where consent is the basis, it can be withdrawn at any time by writing to us.
7. Sharing
We share personal data only where necessary, and only with:
- Service providers who help us operate — video conferencing, email, hosting, storage, messaging and analytics — under confidentiality obligations.
- The partner school, for data generated during its own rollout.
- Professional advisers, auditors or authorities, where the law requires it.
8. WhatsApp and messaging
If you contact us on WhatsApp, your phone number, profile name and message content are visible to us and are processed by WhatsApp under its own terms and privacy policy. We use WhatsApp only for programme information and coordination, and we do not send bulk marketing messages through it.
9. Storage, transfers and security
Data is stored with reputable providers and may be processed outside India by those providers. Where that happens, we require appropriate contractual safeguards.
We apply access controls, encryption in transit, least-privilege access and confidentiality obligations for anyone working with us. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures and will notify affected parties and the authorities of a reportable breach as required by law.
10. Retention
Enquiry data is retained for up to 24 months from the last contact unless a school becomes a client, in which case it is retained for the term of the engagement and for as long as legal or accounting rules require. Programme and survey data is retained per our agreement with the school, and returned or deleted on the school's instruction at the end of the engagement.
11. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to give you access to your personal data, correct or complete it, erase it, withdraw consent, or nominate another person to exercise your rights on your behalf. Write to us at the email address above and we will respond within the period the law allows. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the relevant data protection authority.
Requests relating to a student's data should be made through the school, which holds the primary relationship with parents.
12. Cookies
Our website uses only the cookies and similar technologies needed to serve pages, keep the site secure and understand aggregate usage. We do not run third-party advertising cookies. You can block cookies in your browser; some parts of the site may then work less well.
13. Changes
We may update this policy as our programme, our providers or the law change. The current version is always published on this page with the date below.
14. Contact and grievance redressal
